[MONTHLY RELEASES] Looking forward to November 2018

Monthly releases is an article I  love putting together. It is dangerous though because I always come across so many books I want to read and my wishlist is already so insanely long haha. But I just love looking forward to new releases. I pre-order some books each month and a lot end up on my wishlist. Here’s a list of non-ya books that I’m really interested in – or may have pre-ordered already as well.

  • Diamond Fire by Ilona Andrews (Hidden Legacy #3.5)
    Release date: November 6th

I can’t put the synopsis in here yet because of spoilers – I can’t use my plugins yet so until then I can’t blur my spoilers, ugh. So I cannot use any context that has spoilers in it like the synopsis of this book. I can put the synopsis of book 1, Burn for me, here so you can get acquainted with the series:

#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire…

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

  • Misadventures with a Professor by Sierra Simone (Misadventures #17)
    Release date: November 6th

I love contemporary romance and a student/teacher romance is something I normally really enjoy. The synopsis of this one sounds really fun and I’ve added it to my wishlist. I haven’t read any other book in the Misadventures series yet but I’m dying to find out if I’m going to like this author’s writing so I can hopefully read more of the series. The books in the series are standalone romances that can be read in any order.

Zandy Lynch never planned on going to grad school a virgin. So when her professor father finds her a job abroad as a research assistant the summer before she starts her master’s program, she sees her chance. She’s got one night in London to lose her V-card to a Mr. Darcy lookalike before she has to join some ancient professor in the country.
Oliver Graeme is not looking forward to having some American co-ed hovering around while he’s trying to work, but he owes her father the favor, and besides, his office is an untidy mess of uncatalogued research. He needs the help. Still, he decides to take the edge off his frustration while visiting a colleague in London, and winds up having the sexiest, sweetest night of his life with a stranger, who vanishes in the morning without a trace…

To Zandy’s shock when she arrives at Professor Graeme’s house a day later, the door isn’t opened by a fussy old scholar, but by the wild, passionate man she met in London. Cold and reserved by day, Oliver is ferociously greedy with her at night, and it’s not long before Zandy finds herself falling for both versions of him—the aloof professor and the generous, rough lover. The trouble is that summer only lasts so long, and Zandy already has a plane ticket waiting to take her home…

  • Heartbreak Warfare by Heather M. Orgeron & Kate Stewart
    Release date: November 8th

military romance? I’M IN! And I’ve already read and loved a book written by Kate Stewart so that’s another thing to feel confident about. But seriously. I love military romance and this synopsis sounds so promising. This looks like it’s a book, able to give me ALL THE FEELS and I can’t wait to find out if it’s true.

Remember when we parted ways in Germany? It was the day I broke your heart. What you didn’t know was that I was breaking mine too.

I thought they’d be enough–my husband and my son. That I’d get home and everything would go back to the way it was . . .

Before the war.
Before the ambush.
Before you.

But, no matter how hard I try, I can’t erase the trauma we shared. I can’t seem to forget the way my heart beat in time with yours.

The truth is I’m lost without you.

I thought the nightmare was over when they pulled us from that hole in the ground, but nothing could have prepared me for the war I’d face at home.
I know it’s selfish of me to ask, but, please, I have to see you one last time. . .

All my love,

  • Fighting the Fire by Laura Kaye (Warrior Fight Club #3)
    Release date: November 13th

You might’ve already seen me ranting about Laura’s book in the past on my other blog or on my Instagram or Goodreads or Facebook page… you get the point hihi – I talk about her books a lot. Laura has a way with words and her words always hit me right in the feels. I feel so very privileged of being part of her review team this year and I cannot wait to read her upcoming book in the Warrior fight Club. Of all the series I’ve read and LOVED by this author, this series may be my all-time favorite Kaye series. November can’t come soon enough. I’m so ready to read this haters-to-lovers romance.

The more they fight, the more desire consumes them…

There’s only one thing firefighter Sean Riddick doesn’t like about Warrior Fight Club, and that’s Daniela England, the sexiest, snarkiest, most irritating woman he’s ever known. But MMA training keeps the Navy vet grounded, so Sean’s not about to give it up, no matter how many times he goes toe to toe with Dani—or how bad he wants to take her to the mats.

A former Army nurse and the widow of a fallen soldier, Dani is done with the military and with military men. Fight club is the only thing that eases her nightmares, which means she has to put up with Riddick. He might be sex on a stick, but he’s infuriating and everything she’s vowed to avoid.

But when an accident throws Sean and Dani together, all that fight bursts into a night of red-hot passion. Now they’re addicted to the heat and must decide if the one person they’ve most resisted might be exactly what they’ve both been looking for.

  • Becoming by Michelle Obama
    Release date: November 13th

I’ve always found her such an intriguing and interesting person and I’m so excited to read her book, hopefully someday soon.

An intimate, powerful, and inspiring memoir by the former First Lady of the United States.

In a life filled with meaning and accomplishment, Michelle Obama has emerged as one of the most iconic and compelling women of our era. As First Lady of the United States of America—the first African-American to serve in that role—she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in history, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls in the U.S. and around the world, dramatically changing the ways that families pursue healthier and more active lives, and standing with her husband as he led America through some of its most harrowing moments. Along the way, she showed us a few dance moves, crushed Carpool Karaoke, and raised two down-to-earth daughters under an unforgiving media glare.

In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites readers into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her—from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, to her time spent at the world’s most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it—in her own words and on her own terms.

Warm, wise, and revelatory, Becoming is the deeply personal reckoning of a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations—and whose story inspires us to do the same.

  • Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri
    Release date: November 13th

This is an adult fantasy book that sounds so interesting! It’s India-inspired and that makes me even more excited since I haven’t read anything India-inspired yet. This one definitely made it to my wishlist!

A nobleman’s daughter with magic in her blood. An empire built on the dreams of enslaved gods. Empire of Sand is Tasha Suri’s captivating, Mughal India-inspired debut fantasy.

The Amrithi are outcasts; nomads descended of desert spirits, they are coveted and persecuted throughout the Empire for the power in their blood. Mehr is the illegitimate daughter of an imperial governor and an exiled Amrithi mother she can barely remember, but whose face and magic she has inherited.

When Mehr’s power comes to the attention of the Emperor’s most feared mystics, she must use every ounce of will, subtlety, and power she possesses to resist their cruel agenda.

Should she fail, the gods themselves may awaken seeking vengeance…

Empire of Sand is a lush, dazzling fantasy novel perfect for readers of City of Brass and The Wrath & the Dawn

  • Pucked Love by Helena Hunting (Pucked #6)
    Release date: November 16th

A new Pucked book, yes! I love this sports romance series about Hockey players and I’m really excited to receive my pre-order next month.

As an NHL player, relationships haven’t been my thing. Shrouded in secrecy and speculation, they never last very long. But then that’s what happens when you require an NDA before the first date.

Until Charlene. She’s like a firefly. She’s elusive, and if you catch her she’ll burn bright, but keeping her trapped dulls her fire and dims her beauty.

I caught her. And as much as I might want to keep her, I’ll never put the lid on her jar. Not at the risk of losing her. So I’ve let her set the rules in our relationship.

But as long hidden secrets expose us both, I discover exactly how fragile Charlene is, and how much I need her.

We’re all broken. We’re all messed up. Some more than others. Me more than most.

  • Driven to Distraction by Lori Foster (Road to Love #1)
    Release date: November 20th

This first book in a new romance series is one I’m really interested in reading. The synopsis looks like this book would completely be my kind of book and I can’t wait to find out of I was right and that I would love it.

When desire gets this hot, you’d better buckle up…Mary Daniels doesn’t let anything get in the way of her job acquiring rare artifacts for her wealthy boss. But this particular obstacle–huge, hard-muscled, unashamedly masculine–is impossible to ignore. Stuck in a cramped car with Brodie Crews for hours en route to their new assignment, Mary feels her carefully crafted persona–and her trademark self-control–is slipping, and she won’t allow it.Brodie can’t imagine what secret in Mary’s past has left her so buttoned-up, though he’d dearly love to find out. Maybe then she’d trust him enough to explore their explosive chemistry. But he needs this job, so he’ll play by her rules and bide his time…until an enemy determined to outwit them strikes and he needs to get close–in every way–to protect her. Otherwise they could lose much more than a precious collectible. They could lose it all.

  • Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin
    Release date: November 20th

Even though I wasn’t planning on reading the books by George R.R. Martin – I love the tv series a lot btw – I am really intrigued by this upcoming release. It’s about the Targaeryans and I’ve been really interested in that particular family and reading more about them and their past makes me want to buy and read this book haha.

With all the fire and fury fans have come to expect from internationally bestselling author George R. R. Martin, this is the first volume of the definitive two-part history of the Targaryens in Westeros.

Centuries before the events of A Game of Thrones, House Targaryen—the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria—took up residence on Dragonstone. Fire and Blood begins their tale with the legendary Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, and goes on to recount the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold that iconic seat, all the way up to the civil war that nearly tore their dynasty apart.

What really happened during the Dance of the Dragons? Why did it become so deadly to visit Valyria after the Doom? What is the origin of Daenerys’s three dragon eggs? These are but a few of the questions answered in this essential chronicle, as related by a learned maester of the Citadel and featuring more than eighty all-new black-and-white illustrations by artist Doug Wheatley. Readers have glimpsed small parts of this narrative in such volumes as The World of Ice & Fire, but now, for the first time, the full tapestry of Targaryen history is revealed.

With all the scope and grandeur of Gibbon’s The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Fire and Blood is the ultimate game of thrones, giving readers a whole new appreciation for the dynamic, often bloody, and always fascinating history of Westeros.
